One question always bothered me: how do I determine the ideal amount of food for my parakeets? After all, does a bird in a warm region have the same energy needs as another of the same species in a cold climate? The doubts were constant — about the correct portion size, dietary variations among species, nutrition during breeding, and the importance of seasonal feeding.

I realized that every breeder I consulted had a different answer. It was hard to accept that such a profitable activity was conducted in such an amateur way, based essentially on trial and error.

So, I decided to look for an answer in science. I immersed myself in all the published literature on psittacine nutrition and, despite the scarcity of studies, found a solid foundation to develop a solution. For two years, I combined literature review, consultations with veterinarians, practical testing in the aviary, and work with programmers until Dietbird was realized.

This is only the first step on a long journey. And someone had to start.
